  • Apparently, Fortune 500 companies don’t really believe in SEO. This article from Search Engine Land [1] says that these companies are “doing an extraordinarily poor job”. Ouch!
  • Who doesn’t love analogies? There is a post at SEOMoz about a “File Cabinet” theory of site architecture [2].  In this post ‘Great Scott’ mentions that a lot of people get confused on how to structure their site to be SEO friendly and user friendly at the same time. Therefore Scott has given us the file cabinet example of how you should structure your site to meet both search engine and user needs. It helps, it really does!
  • Nothing is more frustrating then discovering that a pesky Wikipedia entry [3] is outranking your well-optimized (and probably more relevant) content.  Blue Hat SEO has a great plan for beating the Wikipedia entry’s own game – and coming out on top!
  • Everyone talks about building inbound links to their websites.  SEO Book turns this around and discusses the benefits of linking OUT to other websites.  There are a plethora of reasons why outbound linking [4] is a good idea, but a few of the jewels include announcing your presence, becoming a hub and positioning your site as an authority by linking to quality resources.
  • Let’s play 20 guesses – what’s the greatest SEO mistake ever [5]?  According to the Search Marketing Standard, that title goes to “…forgetting that the focus when optimizing a site should always be on the end user.”
