You may or may not be familiar with the SEO Fail Blog but, by the title, you can probably guess what it’s about.  In this particular blog post, the SEO Fail Blog is actually featuring it’s own failure.  Check out their 302 Redirect Fail [1] and use their tool to ensure you’re not having the same problem.  Here’s hoping your site is never an SEO Fail Blog feature!

This guest blog at SEOmoz is sure to give you a second-wind on your link building efforts. As frustrating as the link building process can be, the time spent on an analytical link building approach [2] can be extremely beneficial. It’s also a great reminder that us marketers in the SEO industry need to approach every day with fresh eyes and the imagination of a student.

Your SEO accounts are probably generating lots of data, which is great if you love crunching numbers. When you want to make changes or optimize your account all those numbers can be a bit challenging. Don’t just go changing variables in the dark. Use split testing [3] to identify which variables are most successful in optimizing your account.

Creating Sitemaps just got a little less cluttered. Vanessa Fox at Search Engine Land tells us how Google’s new change allows us to create one universal XML sitemap [4]. Although the simplicity of one sitemap format sounds good on the surface, the article explains reasons you should keep your content types separated. In the end, more functionality is a good thing but proceed with caution.

Robert is an Account Executive at Hanapin Marketing [5], a search engine marketing firm focused on generating results through PPC and SEO.
