  • Building search engine-friendly URLs is not an easy task. Thankfully the team over at SEOmoz has built out a very handy cheat sheet for mastering URLs. Check out their SEO Cheat Sheet: Anatomy of a URL [1].
  • Stoney deGeyter has a great post on seven things SEO clients can do [2], and should do to help their own SEO performance. A few he lists are measuring results, not rankings, implement SEO recommendations quickly, and of course, pay on time.
  • If you find that your blog posts aren’t getting the kind of traffic and links you’d like, check your title. Is it interesting? Does it contain keywords? Does it immediately grab someone’s attention? If not, get back to work. Because even if you don’t think they’re that important, even if you don’t really care about them, blog titles are like your in-laws [3]. Sometimes you have to work a little harder at them.
  • Well, obviously you’re not looking to make your site visitors think you’re a liar [4]. But might you be doing just that and damaging your credibility by being careless and lazy with your copy? Sherice Jacob at Copyblogger describes several great ways you can offer proof of your claims and establish trust.
  • SEOmoz not only expanded their Guide to Social Media Marketing [5], but they’re even offering tips on how to best use the guide. If you haven’t looked at it yet, be sure to check it out! Some of the tips offered include: identifying the greatest link juice opportunities, focus your efforts on a handful of sites, and target the sites with the largest communities.
  • What round up isn’t complete without a little SEO Fail? Here is a good/bad example of a 404 SERP fail [8].

Jessica is an Account Supervisor at Hanapin Marketing [9], a search engine marketing firm focused on generating results through PPC and SEO.
