The page views have spoken! Below we have gathered SEO Boy’s four most visited, and hopefully most valuable, articles from May. Whether you’re a new or long-time subscriber you may have missed these insightful and helpful SEO management tips. Enjoy!
Optimizing can be a tedious task, but that’s not to say it should take the backseat. Quite the contrary, SEO should be the focus of any webmaster- especially that of a global brand. On that note, check out how one of our bloggers out-optimized Gatorade [1].
SEO lends itself to several analytics but, depending on the site’s purpose, some may be less important than others. For instance, the bounce rate (the number of people that leave a site after looking at only one page) may not matter when a site is meant for relaying such things as sports scores, phone numbers, or in-store promotions. Check out Eric’s post to find out when bounce rates do matter [2].
Newbies and veterans alike should familiarize themselves with Google’s webmaster guidelines (or risk being banned). While it may be tempting to take SEO short cuts, take a lesson from the tortoise and remember: in the end, slow and steady wins the race. Dan does a great job elaborating on Google taboo [3].
Linkbuilding: a webmaster’s best friend. Literally. When researching linkbuilding we’ve all found the same generic tips: research, look for similar sites, build good links, find quality links, etc. and we’ve all thought the same thing, Tell me something I don’t know. In response to those silent frustrations, I give you Finn’s article, “Link Building By Making Friends [4]”.
Amy is an Account Executive at Hanapin Marketing [5], a search engine marketing firm focused on generating results through PPC and SEO.
