Our Greatest Hits for February 2011

March 3rd, 2011 | | Greatest Hits

The page views have spoken! Below we have gathered SEO Boy’s four most visited, and hopefully most valuable, articles from February. Whether you’re a new or long-time subscriber you may have missed these insightful and helpful SEO management tips. Enjoy!

Thanks to Bethany for her WordPress optimization tips this month.  Blogs are a great way to boost your site rankings and build relationships with customers and other people in your industry.  Bethany’s tutorial takes us step-by-step through the various options in WordPress, including: title tags, page titles, meta tags, and permalinks.  She also includes some handy tips for optimizing individual blog posts and images.

Amy’s SEO Boy post on optimizing videos for SEO comes in a close second this month!  Here at Hanapin, we’ve started our very own vlog, and it begs the question – how do we optimize these things?  As Amy explains, video SEO is something that a lot of webmasters will overlook, but it’s definitely a process worth looking into.  Check out Amy’s article to find out more about how people search for video and how to include video in your sitemap.

Check out this interesting read from Bryan about news and information on Quora.  According to Bryan, a lot of folks have called Quora the downfall of Google, however, this doesn’t seem like a likely scenario just yet.  If you’re not familiar with Quora, it’s a question and answer social network, and a valuable resource for those looking to boost their search engine rank.  Check out Bryan’s article for more background on Quora and what it can do for your traffic and rank.

Our last Greatest Hit for February is an article from Jessica on rethinking your internet business model.  In this post, Jessica breaks down the issues faced in making an Internet based company succeed.  For one – is it something you’re passionate about?  Starting SEO on a website can be extremely exciting at first (just like a new relationship), but after a while the fun could start to fade.  So, simply – if you optimize for something you like, and tailor your site for what people want, you’re more likely to see the payoff and be satisfied with the end result.

Jessica is an Assistant Account Executive at Hanapin Marketing, a search engine marketing firm focused on generating results through PPC and SEO.
