In a world of many impatient people, a website’s load time is critical to success. Google Analytics just made it easier to get a grip on the virtual racetrack with the Site Speed Report. As part of the new Google Analytics, the Site Speed report will measure how fast your landing pages are loading, and will assist SEO managers in providing a faster web experience for users.
We all know that the load time of your most important website pages affect not only your account’s conversions, but your overall Adwords Landing Page Quality scores and where your site ranks in the SERPs as well. Now you can identify your slowpoke pages faster and fix those problem pages so you are as fast as Lightning! Google also suggests using the Site Speed report for the following:
- Traffic sources: Which campaigns correspond to faster page loads overall?
- Visitor: How does page load time vary across geographies?
- Technology: Does your site load faster or slower for different browsers?
To use this new reporting tool, you must take a pit stop and make a small adjustment to your tracking code in Analytics. Page speed measurement is turned off by default. Install your code, enable your tracking and you’ll be off and running with a new metric under your hood. To assist you with set up of this tool, please visit the Site Speed article in the Analytics Help Center.
