After rolling out the initial +1 feature only a few short months ago and then releasing the +1 button to a broader web site base earlier this month, the Google +1 button continues to grow. Now the feature will be available worldwide!
That’s right! Google’s Inside AdWords blog is reporting that as of this week, the +1 feature will begin appearing on ads and organic search results globally. Obviously they are starting in their own front yard, with sites like google.co.uk, google.de, google.co.jp and google.fr, but the expansion to almost all other Google search sites will occur shortly. Google is also reporting that they have partnered with other select foreign websites which will begin showing the +1 option, as well, such as:
- TechCrunch Japan
- The Telegraph
- Marie Claire UK
- Spilgames
- Tradingpost.com
- Games2Win
Users can also add the +1 button to their international websites by installing the +1 Button Tool in Google Webmaster Central to further enhance the +1 button experience for their customers or site-goers.
Hopefully this addition to the +1 feature either helps you open a new door by reaching international customers opinions you couldn’t reach previously, or it pushes a door open further by providing you feedback from your international customer base. What do you think? Do look to see a positive or negative impact on your own site rankings with this continued expansion of the +1 feature? Share your thoughts and ideas in the comments section below!
