I think that xml sitemap generators are a great way to get your site generated. I wasn't aware that you could make some pages appear more frequently, though. I would love more information on this, if you could. I am planning on starting a site soon and want everything to go smoothly.

a quick question,
if i set the frequency “Never” would it cause a de-indexing in google.

in webmasters i can see a huge number of my pages indexed but in google if i put site:mysitename.com it hardly showing 500-650 pages. 3 months before it was 3000+ before that even more than that.

I am a little confused, it seems that the search engines always show my home page more love regardless of what I do on my site map. More info on this would be great.

I like then info on frequency. I like the info to leave the home page priority to 1.0

But saying that we can set all the other pages to anything from 0-1 is a little vague. SHould we set everything else to 0.5?

Should we set some things to ZERO, meaning we don’t care if they ever get any PR …and if we do this, does it help other high priority pages?

How does this interact with what’s in the robots.txt?

Tks, your article really helped me to better understand sitemaps.
I started to worry about sitemaps when my homepage disappeared from google once.
