What is it?

In honor of National Poetry Month, SEO Boy is holding an SEO Poetry Slam during the month of April. We want you to create your own haiku about Search Engine Optimization. A haiku is a form of Japanese poetry consisting of 17 syllables written in three lines of 5-7-5. So get out your pens, or open up Word, and start writing!

Why should I do this?

Besides the joy of getting to write your very own SEO Haiku, SEO Boy will be giving away a $25 Barnes and Noble gift certificate to the author of the best Haiku.

How do I enter?

You can submit your haiku in one of three ways:

  1. Tweet it to @SEOBoy and include a / to indicate the end of a line.
  2. Paste it into the comment box below.
  3. Email it to seoboy@hanapinmarketing.com

All haikus must be submitted by EOD on April 28th. The winner will be announced on our blog on Friday, April 29th.

    But do not go overboard.
    Google will block you.

    Is supposed to be the key.
    Just don’t be evil.

    Write for the reader,
    not the search engines. Link to
    relevant content.

    is not the way to rank high.
